About this work
Handkerchief of natural-colored batiste with embroidered initials PS and openwork hems with lace embroidery: work with drawn threads. The handkerchief is finished all around with a strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of three-part leaves and buds, made in linen stitch with openwork edges. The motifs are connected to each other by a trellis ground, a square Valenciennes ground. The straight underside of the strip around the handkerchief is finished with picots.
