Mitten of natural-coloured bobbin lace: fine Brussels floral work. The pattern along the edge at the part where the hand emerges from the mitten on the front and back consists of a C-scroll from which two heart-shaped leaves spring. The heart of these leaves is double-layered, made with an application of bobbin lace. In each scroll a zigzag line and pearl edge. This zigzag with pearl edge recurs along the edge at the lower side. The remaining pattern consists among others of vines with triple leaves and flowers with a densely worked oval flower heart and openwork oval petals. With these flowers the upper and lower edge of the mitten are finished. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch with thick contour threads and relief contours. The motifs are connected to each other by a plaited ground. In a single rosette flower a block is stretched in the flower heart, made in form stitch.
