Strip of bobbin lace

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Eastern European lace. The pattern is formed by bobbin lace ribbons, which create organic forms in a winding manner, which emerge from each other and merge into each other. Various volute leaves and a single flower calyx can be distinguished, including a daisy or sunflower. The ribbons are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. Most of the space is occupied by the ribbons, connections are made among others with overlapping pairs and with some meshes, including round Valenciennes meshes. The top side is finished with a straight bobbin lace ribbon, with openwork edges on both sides. Along the bottom side an alternation of some meshes and always one small fan-shaped motif with picots creates a shell edge with small shells.
