Strip of bobbin lace with a plume-shaped flower on a C-shaped leaf

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a thick plume-shaped flower on the center line, hanging from a feathered C-shaped leaf. Two feathered leaves spring from the top of the hanging flower and curve upwards via the bottom edge of the strip, where they pass into a loop forming the next C-shaped leaf. The motifs are connected by a decorative ground, a snowflake ground. The work is mainly made in linen stitch and partly in net stitch, with openwork edges. The bottom edge is finished straight and provided with picots. The top edge is finished with a separately bobbin-made band. One short end is finished with a hem.
