Strip of bobbin lace with palmette motifs arranged lengthwise

Strip of irregularly brown-colored bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a palmette flower placed lengthwise, on a curved stem with a small curved leaf and larger curved leaf. From the top of the flower two flowers with large leaves emerge, the largest leaf curls around along the top of the strip, the flower with the smaller leaf bends the other way and touches the bottom of the strip. The motifs are connected by an irregular decorative ground, a snowflake ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch with openwork edges. The top of the strip is finished with a separate bobbin lace band. The bottom of the strip is finished straight and provided with picots.
