About this work

Strip of natural-colored mixed lace: Venetian ribbon lace. Pattern of scroll vines, with whimsically shaped flowers and acanthus leaves on a coarse hexagonal mesh ground with many times twisted buttonhole stitches. The contours of the pattern are formed by a woven ribbon. Large surfaces with various open decorative grounds within the contours. The upper side is edged with a straight border. The lower side is finished with a straight picot border with arches.
