About this work

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Venetian ribbon lace. The closed, round-running strip is intended for a superplie and has a pattern of scroll vines, vine leaves and lilies on an open ground with festooned bars. The contours of the pattern are formed by a woven ribbon. Various decorative grounds within the contours. The upper side is edged with a woven border. The lower side is edged with a straight border.
