Strip of bobbin lace for a 'German cap' used in the Frisian costume

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Antwerp pot lace. The strip is composed of four strips and intended for a 'German cap' used in the Frisian costume. The middle two strips are equal and are sewn symmetrically against each other. The pattern has flowers placed in a wreath alternating with halved quadruple flowers, which through the seam become a whole. The lower strip has a running pattern of a rocaille and a double flower branch where the rocaille and one of the flowers also form the shallow shell border. The upper strip is a cut-off part of the middle kind and is finished with a very narrow, partly missing hem. The motifs are connected to each other by a mesh ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch and there are two kinds of decorative ground used, around the motifs run thicker contour threads.
