Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. The repeating pattern along the top edge consists of half medallions, alternating rhomboid with lobed circular. The pattern along the shallow scalloped edge consists of a densely worked band in which the contours of stylized flowers and leaves are made with openwork edges. The motifs are connected by a fine mesh ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with slightly thicker contour threads and partly with openwork edges. Two different ornamental grounds are used in the medallions. The scallops along the bottom are finished with picots. The top side is finished straight. A seam is made at the beginning of the strip.
