About this work
Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace. The repeating and strip-filling pattern consists of a five-lobed motif between two organic forms, which are connected above the five-lobed motif. The contours of the motifs are formed by ribbons worked in linen stitch with openwork edges and reasonably large cutouts which are filled here and there with a mesh. Within the contours various decorative grounds are applied including a snowflake ground and netting filling. Top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight, with the underside provided with picots.
