About this work
Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace. The repeating pattern consists of a continuous vine with curling side branches with many different small flowers, flower buds and leaves of more or less the same size. The motifs are worked in linen stitch with openwork edges and sparingly fine cutouts. Sporadically a leaf, flower or bud is worked with a decorative ground, including a snowflake ground. The motifs are connected by a plaited ground. Top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight, with the underside provided with picots.
