About this work
Strip of natural-colored Dutch bobbin lace. The pattern consists of a repeating symmetrical motif of a stylized peony with a wavy side branch on the left and right. At the end of each side branch, a smaller peony curls upwards and faces the large central flower. The motifs are connected by a round lattice ground with braided stitches. The motifs are worked in linen stitch with openwork edges. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, with picots on one side.
