About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Binche lace. Doubled strip consisting of two equal parts sewn together lengthwise, creating a symmetrical pattern. The repeating pattern per strip consists of an S-shaped feathered leaf with three carnation-like flowers. The motifs are largely made in linen stitch with openwork edges and partly in net stitch. The motifs are connected by a ringed snowflake ground. A different ornamental ground is used in flower hearts and between leaves. The top and bottom of the doubled strip are finished straight. The short sides are finished with a hem.
