About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Binche lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of wavy feathered leaves, with a plume-shaped flower with an elongated pointed oval center under each wave crest and a thick plume-shaped flower between the wave crests. The motifs are connected by an ornamental ground, a snowflake ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch with openwork edges. One type of ornamental ground is applied around the wavy leaves. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, with the bottom provided with picots.
