About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating pattern consists of a bouquet of three flowers between a wavy ribbon with ovals and a field of diamonds. The ribbon cuts diagonally across a long feathered leaf, which makes an opposite wavy movement and from which flowers spring. The motifs are connected by an ornamental ground, a fine snowflake ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. The ovals in the ribbon and the diamonds are made in net stitch. The top and bottom are finished straight, the bottom being provided with picots.
