About this work

Women's shoe of black grosgrain silk with an openwork forefoot. Model: Rounded toe, one vamp and two quarters. The front of the high heel slopes straight down at a rounded corner. The sides and back of the heel slope inward, making the heel narrower toward the bottom. The heel is covered with black grosgrain silk. A leather counter is nailed to the heel with four nails and a black leather sole. Quarters and vamp lined with ivory-colored leather. The insole is of gray-white leather. Decoration: Two bands laid crosswise over the instep, creating four oval openings in the forefoot.
