About this work
Prayer rug, so-called diamond prayer rug, MELAS. Central field: on a narrow, rectangular red ground slightly pinched above the center, interlocking diamonds in pink and purple. Borders: fivefold. The widest is yellow, alternating with purple diamonds and four-petaled carnations in orange, red, white, and purple. The first border features fir branches, the second carnations, and the outer two in black and white with zigzag lines.
