Star Medallion Dress

Star-medallion carpet. Central field: terracotta ground with a large, pale green star-medallion with two palmettes, white hooked contours, and a yellow cross. In the corners, cobalt blue quarter-medallions with yellow blocks. Field filling of stars and flower stems. Border: triple. The middle is brown-purple and black with naturalistic rosette flowers in mauve, old pink, green, red, yellow, white, and light blue. The inner selvage is yellow with stars. The outer selvage is old pink with zigzag lines in many colors. Fringe: at the bottom a 13 cm wide fringe in red, green, and white stripes; at the top 14 cm wide.
