About this work

Perken carpet, KEMERIHISAR (from A.). Central field: light stone-red field with three rectangles bearing cross-shaped medallions in ultramarine, stone-red, and cobalt blue; two with yellow outlines, the middle one with white, all with long diagonal hooks. At the top, another half medallion. In each medallion, five octagons with volute rosettes. On the sides, half rhomboids divided into red and light green with dark blue hooks. Border: triple. The main border is stone-red with zigzag lines in lilac, light green, purple, yellow, blue, dark red, and white, enclosing half stars. The inner selvage is ultramarine, with three flowers and S-shapes at the bottom. The outer selvage is brown with rosettes in threes in many colors.
