Medallion carpet, SHIRWAN

Medallion rug, Shirwan. Central field: stone red ground with three octagonal medallions surrounded by long hooks, one between two dark blue, filled with flowers and branches with hook motifs. In each medallion a small stone red octagon with starflower in light green and blue-green. Field filling of large and small star shapes and rosette flowers. Borders: triple. The middle is white with linked bordered octagons in many shades of yellow, blue and red. This border is framed in a black and a red braid with white S-shapes and this again inside blue/black and white/black block bands.
