About this work
Striped carpet, Yuruk or Sarkisha. Central field: six broad transverse stripes alternating in red, from lac red to deep orange-red, and blue, separated by narrow white intermediate stripes. On the broad stripes an equal decoration of white speckled zigzag lines of dark blue, dark red and apricot. Inside and outside these are whole and half rhomboids, each with a rosette flower. Borders: triple. The main border is light orange with triangles with half flower rosettes. Inner selvage white; outer selvage blue. Fringe: only at the top a figurine fringe.
