About this work
Oriental rug, gridwork rug, in soumak technique. On the central field stands a grid of saw-toothed vines on a yellow ground. Within each mesh is a plait band or knot motif. A triple border, the broadest decorated with Kufic motifs. Fringe at the top and bottom. The rug has been shortened.
