Cape of black bobbin lace with a bouquet on the back

Cape of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. The cape has an indented triangular shape with rounded points, with below a wide strip that is gathered and above a narrow strip that is laid in the correct shape with some large figure stitches. In the middle of the back stands a large bouquet centrally in a symmetrical pattern with loose flower branches where a zigzag garland of leaves runs through. The wide gathered strip along the bottom has a scalloped edge that is built up from large c-scrolls, which turned away from each other form a kind of horns of plenty from which flower branches spring. The pattern of the narrow strip along the top consists of loose flower branches in oval cartouches of pearl lists. The motifs are connected to each other by a mesh ground. The motifs are made in net stitch and one type of decorative ground is used, around the motifs run thicker contour threads. The cape can be closed with a ribbon and buttons.
