Cape of bobbin lace with the pergola with wrapped pillars

Cape of black bobbin lace: Chantilly lace. A fan-shaped model with an extended point is divided into a collar piece, a middle piece, a pergola with eight pillars and a border of peacock-tail shaped shells. A rather coarse grid ground is empty only in the collar piece, but otherwise studded with small knots. The collar piece is decorated with a closed garland of bindweed. The pergola shows pillars, which are wrapped with garlands and an inner decoration of tall, triangular bouquets, which are arranged symmetrically in relation to the middle and largest bouquet. Hanging from these are flower wreaths, through which the terrace of the pergola runs transversely. The shells are more than a half circle deep and alternately filled with radiating, interwoven pointed and oval links and with palmettes, accompanied by a daisy. Small inner shells consist of a bouquet with hanging oak leaf border. Along the closure a transverse row of interwoven links.
