About this work

Shawl of black machine lace, imitation of Chantilly lace. The thicker contour threads were added by hand. Long rectangular shape with in the central field a straight line of a repeating flower branch. To the flower branch belong three flowers and spreading slender leaf branches, which fill the central field. The central field is framed by long wavy and feathered leaves with around it a border with grape leaves alternated with large exotic flowers. The scalloped edge originates from the pattern with grape leaves.
