About this work
Cuff of natural-coloured needle lace: Brussels mesh lace. V-shaped model. Symmetrical pattern with along the bottom a sequence of always one rosette flower next to a diagonally placed leaf and a decorative border with semi-ovals. This border pattern forms a scalloped edge with fine shells. In the field above a row with a carnation, two loose rosette flowers and again a carnation, on a mesh lace ground decorated with ring-shaped rosettes. The inner edge is straight, but on the straight edge stand at some distance from each other circles of needle lace.
