About this work

Cylindrical birdcage with a carrying ring. Two smooth horizontal bands run around the cage, to which four vertical, profiled bars are attached. These bars form the legs of the cage at the bottom and extend up to the top rim of the cage. Inside the cage is a bird on a perch. The cage has a small door and is marked: maker's mark = Amsterdam and master's mark = Willem van Strant. See also inventory no. BK-14913-C.
