About this work

Christening dress, Biedermeier, of tulle with cutwork. Model: gathered skirt (made from a bridal veil?) with smooth bodice, gathered boat neck, and puff sleeves. Smooth, wide, double sash belt for a row of buttons of beige satin. Embroidered with a wide border of flowers on winding branches with ten leaf sprigs. Slightly scalloped border with cutwork. On the bodice also a cutout triangle. Trimmed with lace along the neckline and puff sleeves, type: Beckinghamshire. Netherlands, ca. 1825-1835.
