About this work

Square palm shawl, woven of wool and silk, with a large white central square and square corner motifs. Turkish red standing border and navy blue cross border. In the middle a minuscule flower pattern, in the red and blue borders small bouquets. In the central square stand upward-pointing stems in blue-bordered green, blue leaves and alternating red and blue flowers. In the corner squares stands a grid pattern of green leaves and red cross lines with small four-leaf blue flowers and in the heart large bouquets. Due to the irregular angular borders stand upright bouquets, still of open stem with a flower on the left and right. Cross borders of navy blue show upright at the bottom and hanging at the top bouquets. In the border pattern lying green carnations on the cross borders and standing in the standing borders - up to the upper blue inner border, where they hang sideways. The technique consists of a silk warp and wool weft, bound in twill, backside with floating weft.
