About this work

Palm scarf of woven wool. Square model with a white ground in a densely sown field and a denser filled border, all in stone red, ultramarine blue and beige, here and there with shinier white dots. The center pattern has an asymmetric decoration of diagonally rising rows of blue cluster flowers and smaller red flowers. Between them, diagonally oriented beige garlands with rose trefoils. Against the field edge, in beige squares, borders with inward triple flower branches, blue hyacinths and red rosette buds. As corner fillings, the slightly more than a quarter star flowers on the diagonal carry a large and straight pear-shaped flower, with denser flowers on the cross axes, all in the three colors. The narrow borders have symmetric flowers around the border midline. Setting of narrow frames that intersect each other at the corners and form a square with one star flower. The technique consists of a woolen warp with weft, woven in 2/2 twill weave.
