About this work
Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Lille lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a wavy vine with a bow halfway along each wave and on the other side a rosette flower. Along the lower edge of the strip lie linked elongated motifs with slightly curved ends. The motifs are connected by a fine mesh ground, a tulle ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch, with thicker and shiny contour threads. The upper edge of the strip is finished straight. The very shallow scalloped lower edge is finished with picots.
