About this work
Cuff of natural-coloured batiste with lace embroidery: English embroidery. Rectangular model with shell edge at the bottom. The pattern consists of a row of connected hexagons made with openwork circles, with an openwork daisy in each hexagon. The shell edge follows the pattern with the hexagons. The cuff is finished on three sides with a gathered applied strip of machine-made lace: machine-made Valenciennes lace. The embroidery was made around 1870, the collar around 1910.
