Square Shawl with a Plain White Central Field with a Small Corner Motif and a Light Blue and Red Striped Border with Cut-out Paisleys

Square shawl with plain white central field with small corner motif and light blue and red striped border with cut-out pomegranates. Technique: white silk warp, white and colored wool weft woven in 2:2 twill. Slit selvedges and brocaded standing borders. Corner pattern: small squares with diagonally inward-facing pomegranates in red, light blue and white stripes. The turned-over top is small and pointed. Border: without inner hem the field of the border is separated. In the cross borders the pattern runs from one-sidedly slanting pomegranates, the last of which is at the selvage, as if cut off. The standing borders are symmetrical with respect to the standing central rosette and have added pomegranates. Around all pomegranates a white border is cut out between a full intermediate pattern. Fringe: with sewn-on, fluffy wool warp.
