Strip of appliqué lace with a row of C-shaped spirals

Strip of natural-colored Brussels appliqué lace: needle lace applied on drawnwork ground (bobbin lace). The repeating pattern consists of a sparse twig with small leaves crossed by two rosette flowers. The successive twigs form a straight row and are each rolled as a C-shaped spiral. Below between the spirals stand three rosette flowers and in the field above stands always a wreath of six circles. Along the lower edge runs a decorative border of waves and linked ovals and circles with needle lace stitches. The motifs consist mainly of relief contours of widely festooned thread bundles between which are filled with festoon stitches or decorative stitches. The upper edge of the strip is finished straight with a band. The very flat scalloped edge is finished with picots.
