Strip of appliqué lace with bellflower border

Strip of natural-coloured appliqué lace, Brussels needle lace on drochel ground, point d'Angleterre. Irregular scattered pattern with flowers on a fine hexagonal mesh ground. The pattern along the lower side consists of a double row of flowers. The upper row, just below the middle of the strip, concerns a shallow wavy vine with always one bell flower alternated by two rosette flowers. The lower row of flowers, which also form the scallops along the bottom, consists of hanging bell flowers, with on the bent stems a small rosette flower or violet. The upper side is edged with a border of bobbin lace.
