Cape or shoulder cloth of batiste with scalloped edge and insertions of bobbin lace with linked circles

Cape or cambric scarf of natural-coloured batiste and natural-coloured bobbin lace. Semi-circular model, formed by five strips of batiste with inserts of bobbin lace. The lower strip of batiste is finished with an edge of bobbin lace with oval-shaped scallops. The upper strip of batiste is wider than the other strips and is strongly gathered on a coarse linen border band. Attached to this border band is a narrow version of the collar, which partially overlaps the wide collar. The narrow collar consists of three strips of batiste with two inserts of bobbin lace and is finished with a scalloped edge. The strips of the narrow collar are not gathered, but smoothly set and shaped by darts. The bobbin-made inserts have a continuous pattern of two regularly wavy lines that cross each other and thus form a chain of circles. The lines are made in linen stitch. Around the circles the insert is formed by braids, in the circles a wheel of braids.
