About this work

Folding fan with a leaf of needle lace on a blond tortoiseshell mount. The mount has eighteen flat, unadorned ribs, set in continuous, widening, slightly convex outer ribs. The upper sides of the outer ribs are cut in an acolyte shape. The lace pattern features a trapezoidal reserve with C-scrolls on three sides and three roses on stems within. Outside, symmetrically arranged, outward-facing anemones, roses, and clusters of primulas, between hand-shaped leaves. Tortoiseshell fan ring.
