About this work

Apron or decorative skirt of natural-coloured needle lace: Venetian relief lace. Long trapezoidal model. It was composed around 1900 from 17th-century motifs, made of Venetian needle lace. Around 1900 new motifs and other elements were also added to the apron, including decorative fillings and (new) picoted spangles with which the motifs are connected to each other. The small scalloped edge around the apron is also 19th-century.
