About this work

Strip of natural-colored Venetian needlepoint lace "gros point". Pattern with flowers and leaves on volute scrolls. The motifs are made with buttonhole stitches with fine cutouts mainly in the flowers and leaves. The motifs are provided with relief contours. In the flower hearts and around the outside of some larger leaves, cords decorated with picots are used for extra relief. The motifs are connected to each other by a picoted bar ground. The top side of the strip is finished straight with a bobbin-edged band. The underside is finished with an arched border.
