About this work
Neck ruffle of natural-colored needlepoint lace: flat Venetian lace. Apparently chaotic yet symmetrical pattern with a vertical axis in the middle from which many curling flower and leaf scrolls move. The motifs are made with buttonhole stitches, whereby with cutouts simple patterns in various flowers and leaves are realized. The motifs are connected to each other by a picoted bar ground. The top side of the strip is finished with a bobbin-edged band. The underside and two short sides are finished with an arched border.
