About this work
Armchair of teak wood with rattan seat ('Raffles chair'). The chair rests on baluster-shaped ribbed front legs and sabre-shaped rear legs that merge into the rearward-curved back stiles. The back has a wide top rail below which is an openwork field with horizontal and vertical bars above a field with crossed bars. The curved arms end in ribbed bulbous shapes on twisted supports.
