About this work

Cast-iron stove plate divided into two zones. The upper zone depicts the Sacrifice of Abraham, with Abraham on the left holding a raised sword. To his right, Isaac kneels on a pile of wood, with another bundle of wood lying before him. At the very top, an angel flies down, holding back the sword. Below the scene is a text band. The lower zone is lost. The model of the upper zone was damaged, so the middle part of the angel's body is not depicted. A grid is visible above Isaac's head, where a ram was originally intended.
