About this work

Cast-iron stove plate, divided into two zones. The upper zone depicts the Resurrection of Christ, with Christ stepping out of the tomb in a loincloth and holding a staff with a banner, surrounded by three sleeping soldiers. The lower zone shows a Vanitas scene of a reclining man, with a skull at his head and an hourglass at his feet.
