About this work
Cast-iron stove plate. The composition is divided into two zones. The upper zone shows on the right in a garden a fountain with Bathsheba beside it and further to the left two female attendants. In the background a palace, where King David plays the harp on his balcony and watches the ladies below. The lower zone shows a scroll with an inscription.
