About this work

Cast-iron stove plate, divided into two zones. In the upper zone centrally the well. To the right of it Christ seated with three standing figures behind him. To the left of the well stands the Samaritan woman with a jug beside her on the ground. In the background the walls of a city and several other figures are visible. In the lower zone two medallions, on the left with a man's head and on the right with a woman's head. The medallions are surrounded by scrolling foliage. Between the two zones is a text band. Marked with a C.
