Stove plate with a sacrificing King David and the prophet Gad

Cast-iron stove plate, divided into two zones. The upper zone depicts a kneeling King David with a sword in its scabbard before an altar, on which a calf or cow is being sacrificed. Behind him stands the prophet Gad with a book in his hands, looking up at an angel with a sword in the air. In the outstretched hand the angel holds three objects, including a skull and a scythe, referring to the three punishments from which David could choose. The lower zone depicts an angel's head amidst garlands. The stove plate is marked on the altar with the initials MR.
