About this work

On a fine lattice ground, a Mechelen ground (also called ice ground), stands a symmetrical pattern. Within a stretched shell border of lobed leaves and roses stand three-fold flower twigs on either side of a leaf rosette under a 'mountain and valley' line. This bounds two halved rhomboid medallions with a lattice filling of cross flowers. Part of a strip consisting of two sewn-together sections. Mechelen lace.
