Cape of appliqué lace with chain band

Cape of natural-colored appliqué lace, bobbin lace and some needle lace applied on machine-made tulle. A circular model shows a whimsically scalloped outline of a large chestnut leaf, alternated with a dahlia. Inside this border runs a chain of stretched hexagonal links (needle lace), connected by a rhombus of plaitwork. The central field, scattered with large moresques in the form of sequins, shows three large bouquets, among others with a tulip from which numerous leaf garlands hang. These garlands form the connections with four intermediate smaller bouquets. Many garland arches cross each other along the neckline and the front edges.
