About this work
Berthe of natural-colored mixed lace, Brussels bobbin lace with needle lace ground. A wide bell-shaped broad strip shows a mesh and bar foundation with an asymmetrical pattern. This consists of pointed triangular reserves with bar foundation, the contours of which are formed by palm- and carnation-shaped flowers and rocailles with lattice work (needle lace). Furthermore smaller similar reserves, connecting to whimsical branches with 'coral' motifs. Many flowers are adorned with rings in thick relief (needle lace).
