About this work

Berthe of natural-coloured needle lace: Venetian relief lace with a bar ground and fields in which alternately a mesh lace ground and an Alençon ground are applied. Round model. The pattern consists of vines with various flowers and leaves. The motifs are made with festoon stitches and especially the flower hearts which are filled with ornamental grounds, are accentuated by thick festooned cords.
